Oaxaca Medical, Nursing, and Education Students

A very special way that you can impact the state of Oaxaca is through supporting a medical, nursing, or education student studying or hoping to study in one of our Mexican universities. We select a few students each year from our area to support or continue supporting toward their education. All of them are committed Christians who want to use their education for the Lord´s service.

We believe that some of these students will continue working with us in our Clinic and in our medical brigades for years to come, deeply sacrificing what could be a lucrative career in a public or private practice. Our current physicians and nurses have done just that, receiving by comparison a very low salary for all the work they do. And they do it with a heart for the hurting and lost within our reach, confident in the reality of eternity!

We encourage our students to share Christ and His timeless message of salvation to their patients. These medical students are a real and practical part of providing loving care, modeled after our Lord while He walked the earth, “doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.” Acts 10:38

Currently we are helping three individuals, Grace and Hanny Hernandez, sisters, and Irlanda Herrera. Grace is now graduating from Medical School and just lacking a year of hospital internship and one year of social service. Hanny is in her second year of special education training. Irlanda is just lacking one more year of medical school plus her internship and social service.

We have also in the past helped three other physicians, a dentist, and several nurses to complete their training. It is a tremendous blessing to have a couple of the nurses on staff and one of the physicians and the dentist coming back periodically to help us in the clinic. We have also in the past few years helped two other students working in our schools on the missions base to complete their degree in education. None of these students have the means to pay for their education, totally relying on God to provide in faith.
