It certainly has been an eventful couple of months in the world as COVID-19 has shaken the foundations of many. We are grateful that we can rest in God\u2019s goodness, even if we don\u2019t know what tomorrow will bring.<\/p>\n
We pray and trust you are all staying safe and healthy. The Clark family is healthy and thankful to be so! The kids are out of school and doing school work at home with Mom. Ben recently finished level 2 (out of 4) of Spanish school and is getting better and better at communicating. He recently went on a fishing outing with our neighbor and got to see how many of the people in our area sustain themselves. Ben is also healthy \u2013 thanks for praying! The arrhythmias are being controlled with medication that is easy to find and inexpensive.<\/p>\n
Things have begun to shut down in earnest here in Southern Mexico. Just this week Ben made a trip to the next town over for groceries and necessities, but all of the entrances to our town are barricaded off. Several of the men in the town are hanging out there making sure no one goes in or out without being checked. Only people living in the town are allowed in right now. Thankfully we\u2019ve been here long enough to be recognized in our own village. However, Ben went on an errand to Puerto Escondido (45 min. from us), and was stopped on the highway by police. Thankfully he was with Hannah\u2019s dad. They initially wouldn\u2019t let them through, saying the travel wasn\u2019t necessary. They ended up letting them through, but kept Ben\u2019s passport until he returned, warning them to be back by a certain time, or there could be consequences. It was a bit alarming, but they returned without a problem \u2013 with his passport!<\/p>\n
You may have noticed the phrase \u201cBen went to town\u201d. Our car is fixed!! We are so grateful to have it! It\u2019s interesting\u2026 \u00a0We finally got the freedom to move around and go where we want and now we can\u2019t go anywhere! Oh well. We\u2019re looking forward to more freedom.<\/p>\n

The exam rooms in the pop-up clinics are divided by sheets hanging from a wire above. Each room is staffed by a doctor or nurse. A pharmacy is set up outside to dispense meds as needed.<\/p>\n

The last room patients go through before getting their meds is a prayer room. The clinic has a full-time intercessor and evangelist who prays with each patient and shares the Gospel.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Please continue to pray for us. Our transition continues as we discover more and more things that are new to us and require more adjustment. It\u2019s going well, but it\u2019s a process for sure! <\/p>\n
Pray also for wisdom and understanding as we move forward toward our long-term ministry here. We recently met with the leadership of Roca Blanca, and have begun praying about specifics of responsibility and work.<\/p>\n
This season has reminded us of Haggai in Scripture. For the nation of Israel, it was a season of shaking that caused the people to take note and consider what was truly of value. It wasn\u2019t about building their own little kingdoms. It was about a Kingdom that cannot be shaken. I pray that the season you are in finds you focusing on what really matters.<\/p>\n
